Quick Guide 48 Hours in Birmingham

Your Quick Guide to 48 hours in Birmingham

You’re on a business trip and you’ve a quick stop in Birmingham, but have no idea what to do with your free time? Not to worry. Park Regis Birmingham has enough amenities to keep you comfortable and occupied. Plus, our central location means you’re just a short walk away from the city’s best sights.

Day 1

Let’s start with meals. With your limited schedule, you want to avoid losing time looking for restaurants. Luckily, our 1565 Restaurant and Bar serves continental breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch and dinner. We also have a bar offering signature cocktails and a great atmosphere to relax with a drink in your hand.

Once you’re fed and ready to go, step out and take the 10-minute walk to Canal-Side for some Venice-like views in Brindleyplace. The National Sea Life Centre is an incredible aquarium to spend the afternoon gazing at sea creatures or experiencing the 4D theatre.

Just across the road from the National Sea Life Centre is Ikon Gallery, a contemporary art haven.  The temporary exhibitions represent artists from all over the world. What’s more, the art installations include sound, visual exhibits, mixed media, sculptures and anything else you can imagine! If you want to make a stop, the Yorks Café at Ikon is a great spot to stop for a cup of coffee and some baked goods. And, whilst you’re in that part of town, catch a show at Birmingham Repertory Theatre or a concert at Symphony Hall. You can have dinner along the Canal-side or head back to Park Regis.

Day 2

Start bright and early with a workout at our in-house gym and breakfast at 1595 Restaurant and Bar. Freshen up and go to the Bull Ring or The Mailbox (or both!) and shop ‘til you drop. Do you need a new mobile? Perhaps you need a new outfit for that upcoming business dinner. Or maybe you just want to window-shop for a while. Whatever you’re after, these shopping centres have something for everyone-you can even have lunch in one of the many eateries there.

Not far from the Bull Ring is the Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum. You’d be wrong to assume that this attraction is only for children. The exhibitions range from World War II aircraft and technology to nature sciences and the universe. This Planetarium is a must!

What about wrapping up the day by pampering yourself? Finish the day with dinner and drinks at 1595 Restaurant and Bar.

And there’s still much more to do in Birmingham! Book your luxury room at Park Regis Birmingham and discover this vibrant city!
