Kids can visit Severn Valley Railway for £1 this May half term

All aboard the Severn Valley Railway this May half term for just £1 per child* from 23rd May – 31st May 2026! Get steam ahead with keeping the little ones entertained this half term with this affordable family day out. Step back in time and enjoy a heritage railway journey as it sweeps through the rolling Severn Valley countryside. Your will also gain free entry into The Engine House Visitor Centre where you can get up and close to some historic locomotives such as ‘Gordon’ the blue engine, and take a peek through the windows of King George VI’s royal carriage. Titanic Exhibition at the NEC until 26th May

The UK’s largest Titanic Exhibition has returned to the NEC Birmingham – only until Tuesday 26th May!

Step aboard the famous story of Titanic’s maiden voyage and its fateful night via immersive recreations, LED walls, engaging storytelling and be introduced to the history of those who boarded the Titanic. You will be able to explore authentic artefacts from the ship, including an original deckchair, a fragment of the Grand Staircase, a fireman’s pocket watch, and a letter written on board.

Magic of the Gardens at Birmingham Botanical Gardens 23rd – 25th May

Birmingham Botanical Gardens invites you to the Magic of the Gardens where the fairies sing, whispers of folklore are shared, wizards cast spells, enchanted music drifts out, woodland creatures pitter patter, and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll bump into the Green Man and his playful mischief! Enjoy a family picnic at Edgbaston Reservoir

Just a 15-minute walk from Park Regis Birmingham, lies one of the prettiest walks in Birmingham. With a stunning backdrop of the city’s skyline, this place of natural beauty serves as a perfect setting for a walk, run (Edgbaston Reservoir Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am!) and plenty of water-based sports and activities such as sailing and canoeing. The reservoir is surrounded by woodland and grassland, making it a lovely scenic spot for picnics or just retreating from the bustle of the city for a breath of fresh air!
