How to Celebrate the Holidays in Birmingham

Christmas is a special time of year for most. People get together with family, meet up with friends, eat lots of food and give many presents. This does mean, however, that there is a lot to do in very little time, from cooking meals and pies to buying and wrapping presents. So, we are going to help you take a load off with these great things to do over the holiday season to make sure you enjoy yourself.

The Run-Up to Christmas

This is normally when you are out buying and wrapping up presents. You can save time by meeting up with friends or family while doing your shopping. Two birds with one stone! Many stores and restaurants offer Christmas selections you can devour whilst catching up during a shopping break. A few choices could be:

Santa Sunday Lunch and Festival Fayre in 1565 Restaurant

With an exquisite three-course festive lunch or dinner options, our Festival Fayre in 1565 Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday. On Sundays we have a Santa Sunday Lunch, which involves a sumptuous carvery as well as a visit by our favourite Christmas VIP, Santa Claus himself.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market

An excellent idea if you want something ‘on the go.’ This is the largest German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria. You can fill up on pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts and roasted almonds, which can be washed down with gluhwein, weissbeer or tasty hot chocolate. The market is also a great place to meet up with loved ones and listen to the live music.

Christmas Day

Trying to prepare all the food on Christmas Day can be a little stressful, so we’ve taken the work out of it. Why not try a Christmas dinner with a view? It could be the dinner no one forgets. Bring everyone along to our incredible Level 16 and tuck into an exquisite five-course meal.

Boxing Day

Regardless of whether Boxing Day originated from church charity or peasant presents, it’s now a day strictly for family time and sales. Make sure to visit the Birmingham Bullring on December 26th for the famous Boxing Day sales. With last year’s queues starting from 2am, it’s a good idea to get an early start.

NYE

We at Park Regis Birmingham have prepared something special to ensure this New Year’s Eve is one to remember. Have fun walking along the glitter carpet, greeting the paparazzi, drinking the fizz and savouring the canapes with our Great Gatsby-themed black-tie gala ball. Indulge in a five-course dinner with live music before dancing your way into 2019.

Whether you’ve had a full day’s shopping, enjoyed a sumptuous Santa Sunday Lunch or partied all night long, the surest way to recuperate is by staying at Park Regis Birmingham.
