Christmas at 1565 Restaurant

What to do in Birmingham for your Christmas do?

With Summer well and truly over, it’s time to say goodbye to the three sunny days we were blessed with this Summer and brace ourselves for the colder months. It’s time to dig the scarves and gloves out of your wardrobe and spend many a morning defrosting the car. Although winter seems to be the bane of many people’s lives (due to lack of sun, expensive heating and foggy glasses), winter brings one of our favourite festive holidays – Christmas!

Christmas is the perfect time to show your colleagues just how much you appreciate them and the hard work they’ve put in throughout the year, and what better way to do that than a Christmas party? Spending time with your employees will help build a rapport, which in turn will improve their efficiency within the workplace (it’s science). Birmingham is a brilliant place to host your office’s Christmas Party, and we’ve come up with a few fresh ideas of what you could do…

1. German Christmas Market

16th November 2017 – 24th December 2017

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is the largest Christmas market held outside Germany and Austria. With offerings of authentic German and Austrian goods and delicacies, such as bratwurst, steins of wheat beer, mugs of mulled wine and alcoholic hot chocolate, there are plenty of treats for your employees to choose from.

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Market

Surrounded by handmade German crafts, twinkly lights and mouthwatering smells of glazed nuts and biscuits, Birmingham’s Frankfurt Market is a great way to begin your Business’s Christmas party. Just make sure you’re all wrapped up warm, as the market stretches out from the Bullring and down towards Victoria Square!

If you’re planning on spending the night in Birmingham, Park Regis offer a shuttle to the German Christmas market with a stay at the hotel.

2. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens

24th November 2017 – 22 December 2017

If you want to take a more relaxed and cultured approach to your business’s Christmas party this year, then why not book in at The Birmingham Botanical Gardens? The Botanical Gardens are a mile and a half away from Birmingham City Centre, and is breathtaking during the frosted winter months. Take your colleagues on a tour in the Botanical Gardens’ four glasshouses ranging from an exotic Tropical to Mediterranean, Arid and Subtropical atmospheres.

If you want something more substantial then there is the option of going to Birmingham Botanical Garden’s Magic Light Trail and walk around the gardens to see their seasonal lights and illuminations!

3. Laser Tag

Nothing screams fun more than adults running around in the dark, head to toe in combat gear whilst shooting their opponents with faux-laser guns. If you want to stray away from the traditional dingy pub basement party, then why not make a team building office Christmas Party at one of Birmingham’s Laser Tag centres?

Laser Tag Birmingham

From Teamworks Laser Tag in Digbeth to Quasar Elite Birmingham in Acocks Green, there are plenty of places to go and play the ultimate hi-tech game of adult hide and seek. Laser Tag is a relatively easy game to play for everyone to play and is relatively safe and painless – brilliant if you all want a bit of fun without the dreaded fear of a hangover the next day!

4. Birmingham Walking Tour

Birmingham is the second biggest City in the UK, which means there are some hidden treasures to be found in the nooks and crannies. If you’ve have employees who with different tastes and preferences, why not take a walking tour of Birmingham and see exactly what it has to offer? Different foods and drinks can be tried from different venues, and people are able to go at a slower pace.

You could find your new favourite watering hole, and discover beautiful locations.

Birmingham Bullring Church

A walking tour of Birmingham doesn’t have to cost anything either; if you set a provisional route, where you and your colleagues are able to explore freely (and safely) you can see the beautiful Christmas lights, and discover all that Birmingham has.

5. Escape Live

Okay, so spending an hour locked in a room with some of your colleagues might not seem like the best idea, but when you have to work out how to get out of the room via clues and puzzles, that’s where it gets interesting. If you’re thinking about Escape Live in the Jewellery Quarter, we’d recommend it!

Choose from the following: Dr Wilson’s Office, Room 13, Time Machine and The Lab. But be sure to book early – these rooms get booked up quick!

6. Private Party

Sometimes all the Office needs is a private Christmas party with good food, great entertainment and excellent company. If the office consensus points towards a private party, then avoid a dingy bar where the discoloured wallpaper is peeling off the walls and choose a venue that will set the tone for that amazing Christmas Party.

Park Regis offers a comprehensive Christmas Party Nights package, that begins with a sit down meal, followed by a set played by fantastic resident DJs, where your colleagues can dance the night away.
