Your Guide to Birmingham St. Patrick’s Day Festival

The day to unleash the Irish within us is fast approaching. You don’t have to travel to Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style. Birmingham is host to one of the best St. Pat festivals in the UK. Get your bright green outfit ready for a week-long festival of Irish culture.

St. Patrick’s Day at Park Regis Birmingham

Celebrations begin at Park Regis Birmingham. Our 1565 Restaurant and Bar has a few surprises. On St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Guinness will be on the menu at only £4 a pint! If stouts aren’t your cup of tea, stop by any day from 4pm to 7pm and enjoy the best Happy Hour in Birmingham: cocktails at £5 and wine bottles at £15.

Festival

The St. Patrick’s festival officially launches on Saturday March 9, 2019 and continues to Sunday March 17, 2019. Birmingham is preparing for yet another superb event that includes comedy nights, live music, and beer and food extravaganzas all over the city. Follow the festival’s online magazine and social media to stay up to date with the news.

Parade

This year, the parade will fall on the actual St. Patrick’s Day. It hasn’t happened for some time, and we expect that Birmingham will be packed! The parade will set off at 12pm at Digbeth High Street. Fun fact: did you know that Birmingham’s parade is the third largest in the world, beaten only by New York City and Dublin?

Emerald Village and St. Pat Rocks

One of the things that characterises St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Birmingham is the live music. Every year, the St. Pat Rocks stage has a lineup of brilliant artists who inject life into the festival. Unlike previous years, 2019 will be the first time the festival has two stages, the main one being located at Zellig car park, in front of the Irish Centre, and the second being The Emerald Village Stage on Bradford Street car park. This year’s headliner is Finbar Furey! Shows start at 2pm and continue until late. Visit the website for the full 2019 lineup.
