What is Afternoon Tea?

The Afternoon Tea is a popular tradition steeped in British history. Traditionally involving tea and/or alcoholic drinks, miniature sandwiches, cakes, scones and other finger food, the Afternoon Tea is a sophisticated affair.

It is said to have been championed by a friend of Queen Victoria’s, Anne Marie Russell, who wanted to stave off hunger pains in the often long break between an early lunch and a late supper. The teatime activity continues to be enjoyed more than a century later!

A lovely review!

“Afternoon tea with the little ones ❤️🥂

Friends from Yorkshire, London and Epsom agreed on this central place to meet for a girly afternoon tea with their children and it was the perfect choice! Youssef and his team couldn’t have been more accommodating and took real good care of us throughout the whole ‘event’ we had a fabulous time and felt welcome. The young ones had the best time and the food was of amazing quality with a range of choices. They also accommodated any allergies and dietary needs really well and couldn’t be kinder about it. Thank you for a lovely afternoon team Park Regis x”
