Park Regis Birmingham is the most distinctive 4* luxury hotel in the city. The hotel stands proud on the Birmingham skyline, with breathtaking views from the top, offering 253 guest rooms and suites, plus 11 function rooms for meetings, conferences and events.
Park Regis Birmingham is delighted to be one of the first UK hotels to be awarded with the Quality in Tourism Safe, Clean & Legal accreditation which can reassure guests they are Covid Secure.
To prepare the hotel for re-opening to visitors, John Angus, Managing Director identified the Quality in Tourism Safe, Clean & LegalTM accreditation as a useful tool to support Park Regis Birmingham’s plans.
We caught up with John to understand a little more about why he chose the scheme and the benefits it has brought for the hotel.
Why did you choose the Safe, Clean & Legal accreditation?
We felt the partnership between Quality & Tourism and The HBAA represented the markets that we were keen to cover. The opportunity to have the hotel audited by a professional, who could review all of our systems on site was key.
What did you think of the process and materials provided?
We felt the materials provided were very good. We did however have our own detailed SOP which made it a bit of a longer process.
Was there anything specifically that the Quality in Tourism assessor suggested that you found helpful?
Having someone actually walk around the hotel, reviewing the risk assessment with relevant members of the team was excellent. We found it really reassuring to know that a professional had supported us and checked our materials.
How do you believe that this accreditation will help you in the future?
We wanted to give our guests the confidence that our venue is Covid-Secure. We have spent 3 months preparing our hotel for the return of guests, it is great to have that recognised. We will be proud to display the accreditation as a pose to the various “self-certification” programmes that we will not rely on.
